Dr Maria A

Maria is a professional teacher of Piano and Music Theory with a wealth of experience both as a performer and a tutor. Maria is currently a Post Graduate Researcher (PH.D) at the International Centre for Music Studies, Newcastle University and is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Art, Law and Economy swell as a BA (Hons) in European (Classical) Music on Applied Music Studies.
Maria has been working as a Private Tutor since 2009 with students of all ages and experience levels. Thanks to the Classical Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue Diplomas she has obtained, she can easily work on the theoretical, technical and structural elements of music analysis to assist her students in their understanding of each piece and score.
Maria’s Lessons are interactive and creative and her kind and patient personality ensures that her students are able to work their true potential.
Maria offers lessons in preparation for GCSE and A Level Music as well as ABRSM and Trinity College graded exams in both Piano and Music Theory.
